Ryan McDonnell is IJM’s Senior Manager of Strategic Partnerships for the Eastern region. He brings over 17 years of experience working with global humanitarian organizations in the US and abroad. Before joining IJM in 2019, Ryan worked with World Relief’s top investors funding international development, disaster response and refugee resettlement. Ryan holds a Master’s Degree in International Development from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa and a Bachelors of Arts in Political Studies and Communications from Gordon College.
He lives on Boston’s North Shore with his wife, Caroline, and children, Vivienne (9) and Hugh (4) in an antique farmhouse on two acres. They are very involved in their local church, where Ryan serves as Stewardship chair and is currently running a capital campaign and Caroline leads a bible study. Ryan is a voracious reader, distance runner and enthusiastic cook.
Ryan and his wife Caroline are passionate about giving and connecting others to the joy of generosity. He is closely connected to the philanthropic community through his work as a trustee of a Boston-based foundation, participation in a giving circle with a group of friends over the last decade and engagement with Christian donor groups such as The Gathering.
