Runway for Justice: IJM Partners with NYC-based Elegantees during New York Fashion Week

Justice is fashionable. International Justice Mission (IJM), an international non-profit with a mission to end modern slavery within our lifetime has partnered with Elegantees, a New York City-based fashion brand committed to tackling poverty in Nepal through job creation for survivors of trafficking and those at risk of exploitation, to host the Runway for Justice fashion show during this fall’s New York Fashion Week (NYFW).
“During this fall’s New York Fashion Week, International Justice Mission - in partnership with Elegantees - invites you to experience more than just another fashion show,” said IJM Director for New York City Mobilization Jenn Petersen. “Imagine a world without exploitation. A world where justice touches everything, including fashion. In that world, you wear your clothes with confidence because you know the people who produced them are flourishing and that's why we are partnering with Elegantees.”
“It is possible to be fashionable and care about justice at the same time,” said Elegantees founder Katie Martinez. “Elegantees is committed to positively transforming the communities in which our clothes are sourced and empowering the women who make them, we’re proud to grow our partnership with IJM during the fall 2022 New York Fashion Week.”
This one-of-a-kind fashion show will feature justice advocates from around the world with a runway and set designed and built by students from NYC’s Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. Runway for Justice will be on Saturday, September 10, at 7pm, at The Suite, 123 West 18th Street in Chelsea.
