Local Prayer Gatherings serve as a catalyst to draw closer to the heart of God and the mission of IJM, empowering each of us to play a part in ending slavery. You also have the privilege of encouraging IJM staff, who are on the front lines of this work, by praying for their real-time prayer requests.

When you sign up to lead a Local Prayer Gathering, you will receive a customizable toolkit of resources to help you effectively and efficiently plan and host your gathering. We will also provide a helpful outline for formatting your event that you can adapt to fit the needs of your community.

At IJM, we believe in the power of prayer. Each staff member, spread across 26 countries in 39 offices, communes with God and prays at least one hour each workday. That’s over 1,200 hours of prayer daily!
Prayer is built into the framework of IJM because we believe, and have seen repeatedly, that prayer moves the hand of God. Rescuing and protecting millions from the harsh realities of slavery and violence isn’t possible without prayer.
