Who We Are

For over 25 years, International Justice Mission (IJM) has pioneered work to protect vulnerable people from violence through a strengthened Justice System response. The Ghana office works with local government to rescue victims of trafficking, bring perpetrators to justice, restore survivors to safety and strength, and supports law enforcement in building a safe future that lasts.


The Need

As we grow to expand our global impact to protect 500 million people from violence by 2030, we are seeking a Sr. Coordinator, Church Mobilisation (SCCM) who will be responsible for creating and managing relationships with key stakeholders in the church community. The SCCM reports to the National Director of Advocacy and Partnerships. The SCCM is tasked with mobilizing the Ghanaian church at the local and national levels, and para-church organizations to stand against child trafficking in Ghana and to embrace IJM’s model of change. The SCCM is also responsible for advising the National Director of Advocacy and Partnerships on program strategy.

This is a fulltime on-site position with frequent travels to other locations in the country.

This position is based in Accra, Ghana and reports to the National Director, Advocacy and Partnerships and is only available for candidates with the right to work in Ghana.


Responsibilities:

  • Network and build partnerships with churches across Ghana;
  • Network and build partnerships with local leaders, chiefs, assembly men, queen mothers and other opinion leaders;
  • Network and build relationships with key media and performing arts partners;
  • Deliver written (articles, memos, third party speeches) and spoken messages to key external audiences;
  • Communicate IJM’s model of change and provide trainings to church partners;
  • Provide Biblical trainings for churches and Faith leaders;
  • Provide trainings for community leaders, government officials, and opinion leaders;
  • Provide trainings for NGO and development partners;
  • Assist caseworkers to provide technical training for Justice Sector Training partners;
  • Record and report qualitative and quantitative data retrieved from trainings, outreach events, community engagements, partnerships, and media engagements;
  • Build strategy regarding local engagements in source and destination communities;
  • Own, lead, and organize key advocacy events for government, churches, and development partners;
  • Assist key partners and stakeholders to execute their own events relevant to our program work; and
  • Host and facilitate international church and donor visits.

Requirements:

  • Minimum five years of experience in Ministry;
  • Master’s degree preferred;
  • Minimum five years community outreach, event planning, and/or partnership work preferred;
  • Knowledge and experience of working on MS Office effectively; and
  • Strong Biblical knowledge.

*What is a statement of faith?

A statement of faith should describe your Christian faith and how you see it as relevant to your involvement with IJM. The statement can either be incorporated into the cover letter or submitted as a separate document which should not more than a page, and should include, at a minimum, a description of your spiritual disciplines (prayer, study, etc.) and your current fellowship or place of worship.
