Yayasan Integritas Justitia Madani Indonesia (IJMI) is an independent local foundation established in Indonesia in March 2023. Yayasan IJMI is a partner of International Justice Mission. In this partnership, Yayasan IJMI adopts IJM's systems, models, approaches, and resources that have been trusted and proven to provide the impact that is also expected or targeted by Yayasan IJMI.

Our Mission: To protect people in poverty from violence through the rescue of victims, restraint of criminals, restoration of survivors, and strengthening of criminal justice systems.

This position is based in Jakarta and reports to the Legal Service Lead and is only available for candidates with the right to work in Indonesia.

Responsibilities:

The intern will be responsible for the following:

  • Data Collection: Support the data collection activities on criminal justice processes, particularly related to human trafficking cases, in jurisdictions identified by IJMI.
  • Coordination: Participate in the coordination of data consolidation about case review components to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  • Documentation: Support the case information submission into work sheets and maintain documentation for ongoing case review.
  • Case Analysis: To be involved in the analysis and review of cases, focusing on the implementation and application of laws within case work sheets.
  • Case Discussions: Actively participate in regular case reviews and discussions as required by IJMI.
  • Legal Insight: Provide input, analysis, and legal opinions on documented cases, offering valuable perspectives on case dynamics.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in law, criminal justice, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Indonesian; proficiency in English is a plus
