Johanna Burke

Johanna Burke serves as the Midwest Director of Development for International Justice Mission. IJM is a human rights agency that secures justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression. IJM lawyers, investigators and aftercare professionals work with local governments to ensure victim rescue, to prosecute perpetrators and to strengthen the community and civic factors that promote functioning public justice systems.

Ms. Burke joined IJM in May 2011, and she travels throughout the Midwest to speak at churches, businesses and other events, educating people about the work of IJM and providing opportunities for engagement in the work of justice.

Before joining IJM, Ms. Burke worked in the healthcare industry for seven years as a sales representative, where she gained experience managing and growing a multi-million dollar portfolio. She is a former seventh grade teacher who majored in theater at Union University in Jackson, TN.

Ms. Burke works out of IJM's Washington, D.C. headquarters.
