#endslavery - Use Twitter to Help Pass the TVPRA!
By Erica Boonstra - Tue, 04/24/2012
For nearly a year and a half, advocates like you have been working hard to pass the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act (TVPRA). Thanks to your efforts, the bill has 40 Senate cosponsors from all across the political spectrum—we are so grateful for your tireless work to pass this bill that will help end trafficking at home and around the world!
We’ve come so far, but we’re not stopping here. IJM is teaming up with World Vision, Polaris Project and Safe Horizon to gain even more suport for the TVPRA and to ensure that it passes quickly. Our goal is to get 10 more senators to cosponsor this bill by April 30.
You can help us achieve this goal by raising your voice online! Join us by tweeting at these senators who have not yet cosponsored the TVPRA. And don’t forget to use the hashtag #endslavery in your tweet so we can follow your efforts!
Don’t see your senators listed? That means they are already a cosponsor of the TVPRA—thanks for your help getting them onboard!
UPDATE (April 27): Senators Reed and Whitehouse from Rhode Island have just signed on as cosponsors of the TVPRA! Thank you to all who reached out to them! The TVPRA now has 42 cosponsors in the Senate.
